As usual, let’s start with this Ruger AR 556 specs:

So, if you are looking for the best entry level AR 15, this Ruger AR-556 might be a great option. It comes with everything you need, sights, dust cover, etc., and performs very well. Also, because this rifle has been around for a while and fairly popular, there are plenty of Ruger AR 556 accessories.

Is this the best AR-15 for home defense? Well, it is definitely better than no AR-15 rifle for home defense. But overall, for the money, I think it is a fantastic value.
